PRINTED CREPE SAREES

A printed crepe saree is a lightweight garment made from a fabric known for its distinctively crisp, slightly crinkled, or pebbled texture. This unique surface is achieved by tightly twisting the yarn threads during the weaving process. Once woven, the fabric is embellished with digital, screen, or block prints, ranging from contemporary geometrics to traditional florals.

The distinction lies entirely in the base fibers used:

Pure Silk Crepe (e.g., Mysore Crepe): Woven from 100% natural silk yarns. It has a luxurious, fluid drape, a natural breathing capacity, a subtle matte-like sheen, and a higher price point.

Synthetic/Poly Crepe: Woven from polyester or rayon fibers. While it looks very similar and is highly affordable, wrinkle-resistant, and durable, it lacks the natural breathability of pure silk.

Crepe is highly favored because of its exceptional utility and flattering fit. It is inherently wrinkle-resistant, meaning it retains a flawless, freshly-pressed look even after hours of sitting. Additionally, the fabric possesses a beautiful, liquid-like drape that hugs the body naturally without adding bulk, making it incredibly easy to manage during long working hours.

Because of the highly twisted yarns used to create the crinkled texture, crepe fabric possesses a natural, subtle elasticity. While it gives comfortably when draped, high-quality crepe will not bag, sag, or permanently lose its shape, provided it is washed and stored correctly.
