In contrast, synthetic or polyester-blended fabrics tend to melt quickly, produce a chemical-like smell, and form a hard plastic residue. When draped properly, a raw silk saree can look incredibly elegant and flattering. While raw silk naturally has a richer texture and slightly structured feel compared to softer fabrics, it gradually settles beautifully with wear and adapts comfortably to the body.
