SEMI TUSSAR SAREES

A Semi Tussar saree is a budget-friendly alternative to pure Tussar silk. It is a fusion fabric created by blending a certain percentage of natural Tussar silk yarns with high-quality synthetic fibers like polyester, nylon, or art silk. This smart blend mimics the rich texture of wild silk while offering a more affordable price point.

Semi Tussar successfully captures the signature matte finish, coarse slub texture, and distinct rustic charm of pure wild silk. However, because it contains synthetic fibers, it feels slightly lighter, is less prone to natural fabric crushing (wrinkling), and has a touch more artificial sheen than a pure, 100% organic Tussar saree.

While pure silk strictly demands dry cleaning, Semi Tussar can be easily maintained. For the first wash, a gentle, separate hand wash in cold water with a mild liquid detergent is recommended to test colorfastness. Avoid harsh wringing or machine spin-drying. Always line dry flat in a shaded area away from direct sunlight, and iron on a low-to-medium silk setting.
